I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank all those who have visited my blog, you have made me feel pretty good. I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything. I haven’t even left my house in over a week. It is just so difficult for me to walk any where. I can get around the house OK, but even standing to cook has gotten difficult. I am still waiting to see a specialist, which could take a while. Everything closes from the 21st of December to the 6th of January for the holidays; so I have to start calling after then to see about my appointment. I am also trying to find out how much it will cost to see a private Orthopedic doctor. But even they are closed right now. We have put in some new side walks that go all the way around the house, extended out our side patio and added on a small back patio. Next we are painting the roof and adding on some gutters. I figure every little thing we do adds some value. We will also eventually be putting in a driveway. So, we do have plans, but it is one thing at a time. As they say here, un poco poco, little by little. I was planning on going to the beach next month to visit some friends on the Caribbean Coast, but I think I will put that off for a little while and do a canopy tour instead. I don’t care how much it hurts my back, it is on my bucket list! My husband did let me hire someone to help with the house cleaning and she is wonderful. She comes on Friday mornings around 9 in the morning and is here to about 4 in the afternoon and charges me $10. The average wage here is around $2 an hour! Last Friday it was lunch time and I wasn’t thinking about it, it started raining really hard and the wind kicked up pretty bad; I looked out the back door and her and her daughter were sitting on this little bench having lunch. I told her to come inside because of the rain, she was shocked that I let her sit at my dinning table to eat. I don’t care if all she thinks of herself as the cleaning lady, she is more to that to me. She is a person, a human being and a very sweet woman; I refuse to make her sit outside to eat. The only other thing that has been going on is that my hubby bought me a clothes dryer. With all this rain, we needed it. My utilities shot up to $26 last month because of it. It will probably be a little more this month, but I think I can handle utility bills at that price. I hope you all have a great New Year’s and please, be safe.
